Busy as a Bee

I'm not the best at posting every day but I do the best I can. I've been trying to do as many different cards as I can. I use a lot of sketches from papercraftplanet.com and I also like to look at the Blogs I have linked on my blog for ideas.

Scraps

I have a bad habit of getting an idea for a card and just grabbing the exact color of paper I want and starting right away. For this card I decided to use only paper from my scrap bin. I think it turned out really cute. I like to do cards that aren't my standard dimensions.

Delightfully Behind

I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. I had a wonderful visit with two of my high school friends this past week. They flew in from Pennsylvania and we had a blast. We went to the Indianapolis Zoo and to Chicago. I finally had some time to work on a card order. I usually like to get orders done a week after they are purchased but this month has been crazy so far. I used my favorite technique here. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder and then used my ink pad to color the embossed parts of the paper. I use this technique a lot. Enjoy!

Pet sympathy card

My Sister-in-law, Carrie's puppy just died. I'm glad I don't have to make cards like this very often but I did like using my dog/cat paper. I'm glad I had some on hand.

Happy Halloween

I made some last minute Halloween Cards. I wore the purple ribbon in my hair for my Senior High School Musical, Seussical. I was Gertrude McFuzz. I decided to finally use it. I got the stamps at Joanns. They are the dollar acrylic stamps. Let me know what you think.

It's Autumn time it's Autumns time

I was getting bored with my regular stamping and inking routine so I decided to try and do something different for this card. I knew I wanted to use yellow, red and orange. Those are my favorite fall colors. I was out walking and I saw all these beautiful leaves. I thought I could find some use for them. I just hope they don't dry up and get all nasty later on.

Kerby Doesn't like to make Toys

Do these gift card holders bring back any childhood memories for you? They do for me. The elves remind me of the elves from the cartoon Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. I love this paper. Can you tell I get in the Christmas mood early? I think it is ok because if I don't then I won't have any Christmas cards when it is Christmas season.

Japan

I started doing these types of cards after my in-laws got back from Japan. They got some really cool paper crafting books. I used to just glue the part I cut out onto a piece of cardstock. I tried to spruce this one up a bit more. I am happy with how it turned out but it did take a long time. I probably won't include these types of cards in a bulk order unless they are specifically asked for.

inking ribbon

I was making a card for fall and I didn't have any ribbon that I liked. I decided to try to ink the ribbon I had and see what kind of effect it would have. I think it turned out nicely. I also stamped a leaf image on the ribbon as well.

Happy Birthday

For this card I used my cuddlebug embossing folder for the background. Then I used an ink pad on the embossed part. I added a stamped Happy Birthday sentiment and a matching ribbon. You can't see in the picture but I also stamped a flower inside the card for an extra embellishment. I think it is one of my favorite cards. I love cards with a lot of different layers and textures. I will probably do this same card in different colors.

More Penguins!

I need to get out of this Christmas card mood. It is still October. I love fall and I love the fall colors and the holidays. Why would I want to skip all that for Christmas cards? Here is my last Christmas card for awhile, I promise. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Gift card holders

I hate the ugly cardboard that gift cards are stuck to when you get them. I decided to do something about it. Here are three gift card holders I made. They are for Christmas and I am helping the world become more beautiful one card at a time :)

Penguins

I love these cute penguin images. I inked the edges with white ink. I tries to dab so it would give it a frosty snowy look but you can't really tell from the pictures. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Celebrate Vellum Style

I made this card by stamping with white ink on white vellum. I added a red ribbon for accent. I like this card because it was easy to make and because I can use it for a lot of different occasions.

Winter Wishes

My papercraft magazine is already printing great ideas for Christmas. I think it put me in the Christmas mood so I decided to make a Christmas card. I got the stamp at Joanns and the paper is from the Joanns scrapbooking calendar. Enjoy!

Happy Frog Birthday

I had this cute frog paper and I really liked it but didn't know what to do with it. I decided to just add a cake embellishment and some ribbon and a Happy Birthday sentiment. I think it will make a great card for a little boy's birthday. Let me know what you think. I love comments.

Color Challenge

I belong to a group that has challenges and we share ideas and talk about cards and other paper crafting things. The most recent challenge I participated in was a color challenge. We had to use this Recession Penguin image and use colors from our favorite NFL team. I'm a PA girl so of course I choose the Eagles. I added the red ribbon for accent. It was a challenge because I didn't have the exact colors I needed for the Eagles and the image is Christmas themed but I think it turned out cute.

Fall Colors

I love fall. It is my favorite season for a couple of reasons. I love the smell of fall and the crisp cool air. I love the colors of the trees when the leaves change colors. I love all the vegetables, especially pumpkins. I also love the football games that go along with it.....Go Boilermakers! I didn't have anyone in mind while making this card. I just wanted to do something in fall colors. Enjoy

Happy Birthday

I got the idea for this card from Kim Burmeister. I follow her blog, clearlyinspired.blogspot.com she is a very talented paper crafter. I don't have any copic markers or one of those pens that makes colored pencil look like water color. All in good time.

Embossing

I am addicted to cuttlebug embossing folders. I only have two but I have been learning some great things you can do with it on you tube. Yes I know it is really dorky to watch women make cards on You tube but it is fun and it is what I like. I hope you like this card. I added yellow cardstock to the background and organza ribbon.

Calvin and Hobbs

I got this image from the internet and then I distressed the edges. I love the look on their faces. If there were Calvin and Hobbs stamps I would buy them in a heartbeat. I added a bow for more accent but I think it is still a masculine card. I also inked the edges of the white cardstock on the inside. Let me know what you think!

Thank you

To make this paper background I stamped the black flowers. Then I drew on the center of the flowers with white crayen so it would resist the ink. I rubbed two in colors around and then wiped the ink off the center of the flowers.

Square card

I love making different sizes of cards. I especially love square cards. I think they look really nice. I didn't add a sentiment to this card because I loved the ribbon and wanted it to be the focal point.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! I love fall. I love the weather, the smells, the colors and the cute cards I get to make. I got these images and paper from a scrapbook calendar from Joanns fabric and craft.

Sisters

I have two people in mind to get these cards. I love my sisters. All of them. I am lucky enough to have two big sisters and two little sisters. I get the best of both worlds. I only hope I can be as good of a big sisters as my big sisters have been to me.

Pull Tab

I used paper from a scrapbook calendar my mother in law, Patty got me for Christmas a couple years ago. I love the paper that came in it and most of them have matching embellishments. I ripped the edges to give it a rougher, country look and then I added some ribbon....I love ribbon.

Ribbon

I've really enjoyed using ribbon on my cards. I think it adds nice texture and also extra color. The only problem with using ribbon is there are too many to choose from in the store.

cuttlebug embossing

For our anniversary Jeff got me a cuttlebug machine and I love it. I used my cuttlebug machine to emboss and then chalked or inked the raised surface to really make it stand out.

From the Begining

I would like to thank my Mother-in-law Patty for helping me to really get back into my card making. I forgot how much I enjoy it. I have a lot of different hobbies but I seem to bounce around and focus on one for awhile before I move on to another to work on. This is a hobby that I've enjoyed more than any other and I don't see myself moving on anytime soon. I started making cards with my oldest sister Tiffany when she lived in Maryland. I really loved how she always sent me a card for every occasion and they were so cute and special because they were handmade by her. I decided then that I wanted to be the person that remembered everyone I love and their special occasions. I've tried my best to make and send cards for many occasions. Here are some of my recent cards. Let me know which techniques you like.
